For your peace of mind, stop by your local branch or call us today and talk to a credit union representative. RFCU offers you and your family a wide array of solutions to meet all your financial needs.

Pre-Deployment Checklist

Our military forces are always in a state of readiness. It’s just as important that you are financially prepared. Use this checklist to equip yourself and your family for deployment.

  • Set up a checking account at RFCU (get plenty of checks), and make sure you sign up for direct deposit.
  • Add your spouse/relative to your account. Or, for easier record keeping, open a second account so that both family members are writing checks on separate funds. Don’t sign blank checks.
  • Sign up for overdraft protection.
  • Give a spouse, relative or other trusted individual a limited power of attorney to perform account transactions and to pay bills on your behalf.
  • Review all financial information, such as accounts and bills, with your spouse/relative. Keep copies for your records.
  • Sign up for Online Banking and access your accounts from anywhere in the world an Internet connection is available.
  • Contact RFCU to apply for a VISA® credit card, Check Card, or for emergency financial assistance.
  • Set up automatic payments to creditors with periodic payment. Use Checkfree Bill Payment service. Withdrawals can be set up to match your payment schedule.
  • Make a will, and update the beneficiaries on any insurance policies you hold.
  • If your vehicle will be stored during your deployment, comprehensive insurance is required on cars financed at RFCU.  Please provide us with a copy of your insurance policy.  Call RFCU for more details on necessary coverage.
  • Contact your base Family Support Center.
  • Write down your account numbers, RFCU's phone number and web site address (you can send us email).
  • Come home safely.
