Beware of scam circulating through popular online auction and classified sites

A scam is circulating through popular online auction and classified sites. Individuals selling vehicles and other high dollar items are instructing purchasers to wire money to a generic account (A recent example used an account known as E bay Motors Auction) in exchange for the item. The money is being taken without the exchange of the item occurring and since the wiring of funds occurs very quickly, the purchaser is left with little recourse. Consumers should be aware of this scam and use caution when purchasing vehicles and other high dollar items over the internet. Remember that any time you wire money, the transaction is immediate and there is no way to "stop payment" of the funds.
